Just steps from the beach on Marbella’s Golden Mile, Casa Felicia was transformed from a cold, modern property into a warm and relaxed Mediterranean family home.

Inspired by the effortless spirit of Ibiza and subtle Balinese influences, the renovation combines natural materials, handcrafted details and practical solutions designed for everyday living. The result is a home that feels calm, tactile and deeply connected to its surroundings.

From modern and cold to warm and Mediterranean

The original property had already been renovated, but its contemporary aesthetic felt too cold for a home located so close to the sea.

The new concept introduced a softer and more natural design language, with oak wood, travertine, microcement and woven textures creating warmth and depth throughout the interiors.

Mediterranean influences form the base of the project, while Ibiza and Bali-inspired details add character without overpowering the overall atmosphere.

“Our designer completely understood our desires and created a design package that was almost exactly what we had imagined.”

Natural materials, timeless character

Materials played a central role in defining Casa Felicia.

Travertine and microcement bring an organic, timeless feeling to the home, while oak, rattan and handcrafted elements soften the spaces and create a more relaxed atmosphere.

The furniture selection followed the same principle: comfort, natural materials and pieces that would feel relevant for years to come.

Personal decorative pieces collected by the owners during their travels were also incorporated into the final styling, adding another layer of individuality to the home.

Designed around family living

Casa Felicia was designed to feel beautiful, but also effortless to live in.

Custom banquette seating helps maximize space, while built-in planters introduce greenery and soften the transition between indoor and outdoor areas.

One of the owners’ favourite spaces is the living room, where the connection with the terrace became a defining part of the project.

“It feels like the outside garden is coming inside the house.”

That indoor-outdoor relationship is central to the Mediterranean lifestyle and became one of the key ideas throughout the renovation.

Terraces made for Mediterranean living

The terraces were designed as natural extensions of the interiors.

Zellige tiles, Moroccan-inspired pottery and natural textures introduce subtle North African influences while maintaining the relaxed character of the home.

The rooftop was also transformed, including a fully renovated jacuzzi area, creating a private retreat for long summer days and evenings in Marbella.

A complete renovation managed from abroad

Casa Felicia was much more than an interior styling project.

The property underwent a complete renovation, including new aerothermal systems, underfloor heating, air conditioning and fully renewed finishes.

For most of the six-month process, the owners were living approximately 2,500 kilometres away from Marbella, making communication and project management essential.

Weekly online meetings, on-site inspections and ongoing communication allowed the project to progress while giving the homeowners visibility over the decisions being made.

“Things got very clear once we discovered that Zoco Home was offering a complete package for renovation, including project management and close follow-up with the construction company.”

Today, Casa Felicia feels warm, light-filled and completely connected to the lifestyle of the Golden Mile, Marbella.
