Villa Al Fresco is the latest transformation by Zoco Home Interior Design Studio in Marbella, where a family once again trusted our team to breathe new life into their traditional 1960s villa. After a previous collaboration on the home’s interiors, the project continued outdoors—turning the exterior into a serene and cohesive sanctuary that feels like a natural extension of their lifestyle and the surrounding landscape.

The goal was clear: to create a calm retreat that blends functionality with understated elegance, where every corner invites relaxation. Inspired by Mediterranean architecture and organic design principles, Zoco Home reimagined the outdoor areas as a seamless flow of light, texture, and natural form.

A design rooted in balance and simplicity

The renovation took advantage of the home’s existing structure and sloped terrain to craft distinct yet connected zones. The once-unused rooftop has become a peaceful escape, the perfect setting for sunrise coffee or sunset reflections. Here, the master suite opens to a private terrace overlooking the sea, featuring a semi-open shower that brings a touch of nature to everyday rituals.

Below, Villa Al Fresco’s main outdoor living space unfolds: a larger pool framed by natural stone, a sun-drenched solarium, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for long summer gatherings. Every element was designed to enhance the rhythm of daily life while maintaining visual and emotional harmony.

Natural materials, organic shapes, and timeless calm

Throughout the project, Zoco Home Interior Design Studio in Marbella embraced noble materials—terracotta, wood, and microcement—paired with tactile finishes that celebrate imperfection and craftsmanship. Walls with a subtly irregular texture bring depth and warmth, while curved lines soften the geometry of the architecture. The combination of smooth surfaces and organic forms creates a balanced tension that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Staying true to Zoco Home’s essence, the design focuses on creating harmony between people, nature, and the home itself. Vegetation plays a leading role, weaving together indoor and outdoor spaces through Mediterranean plants, soft greenery, and layered textures that thrive under the Andalusian sun.

A home designed for slow living in Marbella

Villa Al Fresco captures the essence of Zoco Home Interior Design’s philosophy: warm minimalism, authenticity, and harmony with the environment. The design invites a slower pace—a lifestyle that values stillness as much as beauty. Nothing feels excessive, yet everything has purpose. Each material, curve, and light-filled corner contributes to a feeling of effortless well-being.

The irregular layout of the plot, once seen as a challenge, became the defining feature that shaped this unique oasis. By working with the land rather than against it, Zoco Home Interior Design Studio created an outdoor space that feels as though it has always belonged to the house—grounded, organic, and perfectly integrated into its Marbella surroundings.

The result is Villa Al Fresco: a retreat where nature, architecture, and soul coexist in perfect balance—a timeless reflection of Zoco Home’s design ethos.
