Bring the magic of handcrafted artisan home decor to your home.
Binga Baskets (commonly known as Tonga Baskets) are made using ilala palm, a shrub autochthonous to the region surrounding Binga Village, Zimbabwe.
Women are behind the production of these woven beauties, in the Tonga Craft Centre, where basket weaving and other exported crafts are a way for women to sustain themselves and their families in a region prone to drought and poverty.
Taking up to two weeks to weave, depending on the size, these perfectly imperfect ethnic baskets are like a work of art. Each piece is completely one of a kind, with different weave patterns, colours and sizes.
Read more about the story behind the Binga Baskets on the blog.
Please note that colour, shape or pattern variations are not defects but an integral part of the authenticity of the product. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and handmade from natural materials that should be handled with care.
Only one basket is included in the price.
