Casa Padre: A Dream Andalusian Holiday Home

As designers we can appreciate interior design in all its forms, which is why when it came to the renovation of this particular home, we wanted to be as respectful as possible, all the while adding our touch of contemporary boho style. Renovating an old home can be a daunting task, but the final result of this early 20th century home transformation is more than worth it. Let's take a deep dive into Casa Padre, the jewel of Tarifa Old Town.
This home is full of history and character, but it needed some TLC and modern updates to bring it back to life. Our goal was to preserve the original craftsmanship while adding a contemporary touch to the interior design.

The renovation process involved not only the redesign of key spaces in the home, but most importantly the restoration and maintenance of the original design features of the home that make it such a unique property. Most prominently, the decision to keep the authentic traditional limewash walls of the home that make it so quintessentially Mediterranean in its character. The original windows and balconies have also been kept, to maintain the charm of the home and match the exterior aesthetic of the rest of the street.

Our new products also played a significant part in the home decoration chosen for the different spaces in the home. With all new cushions and throws from our new textiles collection, focusing on neutral colour schemes in each room. Of course natural materials such as wood and woven fibres are predominantly present in the decoration of the home, featuring our most recent bedroom favourite the Malawi Headboard, part of the Malawi Bedroom Furniture Set, so you can get the Casa Padre look for less!

It’s not difficult to see that the most astonishing part of the house is the rooftop terrace. With utterly privileged views of the San Mateo Church and its authentic stained glass windows and baroque architectural style. This floor has been completely renewed with our staple microcement finish, providing a practical, clean-cut aesthetic that flows throughout the home in different spaces such as the bathrooms and kitchens

A typical Andalusian cane pergola covers part of the terrace, showering the dining area, kitchen and bathroom with a mesmerising play of shadows.

Our very own Vetsak Outdoor Sofa Modules and Tulum Teak Sunbeds take the crown for quality outdoor furniture. Providing a peaceful lounge area where you can enjoy the very best sunsets that Tarifa has to offer.
